The destiny of Japanese Empire after the Second World War in Peter Webber‘s new movie.
The Emperor depicts a true story about final years of Japanese Empire and its Emperor Hirohito. Matthew Fox (from Lost) plays an American general, tasked with investigating whether the Emperor should be tried and hanged as a war criminal.
Peter Webber is known for Oscar nominated period drama Girl with a Pearl Earring and not so well received last movie of Dr Lecter series Hannibal Rising.
